DO I NEED TO USE A FACIAL PRIMER?

If you would like a smoother finish to your make up then a Facial Primer would be of benefit to you. A Make Up Primer is applied just before your foundation – whether that is a liquid foundation or a loose or pressed powder.

A Make Up Primer will minimize pores, smooth fine lines that can be caused from either dehydration or small expression lines. Make Up Primers are like a make up prep that primes your make up canvas; it provides your make up with staying power. Make Up Primers are clever these days too, some are specifically for oily skins whereby they assist in oil control. Others contain skin brighteners and antioxidants.

A word of caution though: if you currently have breakouts and acne, then steer clear of primers that are non-mineral. Choose a mineral primer that is designed not to clog your pores. I see time and time again clients who come to me who are using a chemical primer and this has been one of the major contributors to congested and clogged pores. Chemical primers will fill pores and block oil and cell debris deep within the pore, not allowing the pore to breathe.
