Licorice Root Extract along with Vitamin C when used topically will help block tyrosinase an enzyme responsible for the formation of pigmentation.

This is a brightening serum that does not leave you sun sensitive. I have not included any vitamin A within the Skin Perfection Serum as I wanted this serum to be used morning and night after cleansing. Also I wanted it to be soothing enough that all skin types can use it and benefit from it.

 Licorice and Niacinamide are also fantastic for sensitive skins, they help reduce inflammation associated with acne breakouts and eczema, effectively reducing the redness associated with these skin conditions. They are very calming and healing ingredients and are key in returning the skin to a healthy state. They help to restore the skins barrier making it stronger and more resilient to the external environment. When treating these skin types, restoration of the acid mantle (or skins natural barrier) is imperative if results are to be seen. Over use of harsh chemical products strip the acid mantle and leave the skin vulnerable to bacteria and other pathogens.

Who doesn't want to look younger?? Niacinamide has been scientifically proven to be an extremely effective anti ageing ingredient, hence making this also a fabulous anti ageing serum. The 2 enzymes in niacinamide NADH and NADPH are what gives our cells energy and natural lipids responsible for cellular growth. As we get older these 2 enzymes slow down in production, but topical niacinamide helps to keep the level of production of these enzymes going. The enzymes also contribute to a healthy acid mantle, which in turns has a positive effect on the ageing process. Niacinamide will also help with giving the skin a true hydration, deeply nourishing the skin and feeding our cells necessary nutrients. An anti ageing serum would not be complete without Vitamin C. This ingredient is a powerful antioxidant, acne controller, skin lightener, collagen and elastin producing machine! It will give the skin a natural protection as well from harmful UVA and UVB rays. It works hand in hand with Vitamin E which is also in this super skin serum.

Cross linking of collagen is prevented with this form of Vitamin C along with the prevention of protein oxidation. These are critical for the protection of the collagen that already exists in our skin. We have chosen this type of Vitamin C as it does not oxidize quickly like a lot of Vitamin C ingredients out there, nor does it exfoliate the skin like Ascorbic Acid. Studies have indicated that laminin-5 is necessary for the health and appearance of the skin and is directly involved with skin ageing. Clinical studies indicate that using Heptapeptide over a 21 day period helps tonify the skin, improves its smoothness and helps regenerate and renew the skin on a cellular level. Heptapeptide also stimulates the biosynthesis of fibronectin, which is a glycoprotein that assists in the process of wound healing and is involved in cell adhesion, cellular growth, migration and differentiation.
