WINTER MASK MUST HAVES.

There is no question about it. Our skin gets dryer in winter. This is something that we have all dealt with from time to time, and is extremely common when the weather turns cooler. Thanks to your natural oils, our skin traps humidity or moisture which act as a barrier of protection and hydration. The cold temperatures and low humidity levels during winter result in dry air that draws this moisture away from the skin causing it to become dry and in some cases very impaired or sensitive.

How do you know if your skin is not enjoying the cooler weather?

Listed below are a few common signs that may indicate your skin is in need of a little Winter TLC.

SkinStinging or burning.

There are a number of things that you can do to take care of your skin and to prevent it from becoming compromised in Winter. Always moisturise your skin daily and make sure you are using cleansers for your face and body that are not too harsh. These can strip the precious oils from our skin, contributing to the problem. Make sure that your shower temperature is not too hot, and when outdoors try to protect yourself from the wind by covering your face if you can.  All of these tips will certainly help, but the one thing that I love to do in Winter is to treat myself, and my skin with a face mask. By using a mask 1-3 times per week, you will feed your skin with much needed nourishment and active ingredients to help relieve, and prevent an impaired barrier. Sometimes it is hard to find some quiet time to relax and enjoy your face mask.
